Explore service ↓Practical support to get where you need to go and manage everyday commitments.
Explore service ↓Two participants may both receive “daily living support” and need completely different things from it. VIVO starts with the person: what they want to do, where support is useful and how assistance can encourage participation rather than unnecessary dependence.
That means support can change as confidence, skills, routines and goals develop.
Learn the person's routines, preferences, communication, goals and relevant support information.
Provide the agreed practical assistance at the level the person actually needs.
Look for appropriate opportunities to build confidence, skills and independence.
Keep support connected to the participant's goals and communicate appropriately when needs change.
Daily living support can help make everyday life more manageable while still keeping the participant involved in decisions and activities wherever possible.
Depending on the person's goals and agreed support, VIVO can assist with household routines, meal preparation, shopping, cleaning, organisation and other ordinary daily tasks.
Where personal care is part of the participant's agreed support and sits within VIVO's current worker capability, VIVO can assist with personal daily activities.
The level of assistance depends on the individual. Support is provided respectfully, with attention to privacy, choice, communication preferences and encouraging the person's own participation wherever appropriate.
Community access is about more than getting from one place to another. It can mean reconnecting with interests, trying something new, maintaining relationships, attending activities or becoming more confident navigating the community.
VIVO provides one-to-one support shaped around what meaningful participation looks like for the individual.
VIVO can use ordinary everyday activities as practical opportunities to develop skills and confidence. What this looks like depends on the participant's goals and starting point.
The aim isn't independence at any cost. It's helping the person build capability in areas that matter to them while keeping the right support available.
Depending on the participant's plan, agreed service and individual circumstances, VIVO can provide support around transport and everyday community commitments.
This can include getting to appointments, shopping, activities and other agreed destinations, as well as support to participate once there.
Good support should respond to what the person actually needs. Sometimes that means direct assistance. Sometimes it means prompting, practising together or simply being there while the participant does more for themselves.
VIVO aims to provide enough support to make progress possible without unnecessarily removing choice, participation or independence.
The participant remains central to decisions about their everyday support.
Where appropriate, we involve the person rather than automatically doing tasks for them.
Everyday activities can become opportunities to practise and build useful skills.
Familiar support can make it easier to build trust, routines and confidence over time.
Where appropriate and with relevant consent, VIVO can work alongside the professionals already involved in a participant's supports so everyday assistance remains informed, consistent and useful.
Being clear about scope is part of providing safe support. These services sit outside VIVO's current unregistered direct-support offering.

These are not part of VIVO's current service offering. VIVO currently works with plan-managed and self-managed participants.
Tell us about the person, what they're trying to achieve and where support is needed. We'll work out whether the request fits VIVO's services and current capability.
Share the participant's goals, support needs, location and requested hours.
We clarify what the support involves and any relevant information or professional involvement.
VIVO considers capability, capacity and whether the requested support is appropriate for us to provide.
If the fit is right, we organise introductions, service arrangements and commencement of support.
Whether you're looking for support for yourself, a family member or someone you're referring professionally, start with the person and what they need from everyday support.
